Dr Sydney Shampile is a Consultant General Surgeon working at the University Teaching Hospital (UTH) Adult, in Zambia, trained at the University of Zambia where he obtained BScHB, MBChB and MMed(General Surgery). He graduated from medical school in 2005 and worked as a GP for two years before specializing in General Surgery. He completed his Masters in General Surgery in 2014 and promoted to consultant in 2016 He is the National Coordinator of eHealth Services for the Ministry of Health in Zambia, in the Directorate of Clinical Care and Diagnostic Services. He is an Honorary Lecturer for UNZA and Chairperson for Technical Committee 6 for ZICTA and ZABS that focuses on eHealth and Internet of Things. He interfaces with clinical care with ICT departments for all eHealth related deployments in Zambia. His focus is to enhance ICT utilization in the health sector for improved service delivery, promoting eLearning and encouraging research.
