Dr Sam Musariri is a medical doctor by training and an entrepreneur at heart. He has over 10 years experience working in the health sector both public and private. In the private sector he helped set up one of Africa’s first telemedicine centre working in partnership with Zamtel and Necor(one of the largest local IT companies).He also played a critical role in setting up iVitalz a local health IT start up in Europe connecting it to a rich ecosystem of digital health organizations and investors. He has won several awards such as President Barack Obama’s Young Africa Leader 2015, Tony Elumelu Entrepreneurship award 2015 and featured on CNN Inside Africa as a pioneer in digital health. His team also won the Slush Global Impact award at Slush in Helsinki Finland in 2016 emerging top among global contenders. In addition to being an avid self learner Sam has several business certifications including from Notre Dame University USA and is also an accredited investment advisor certified by the Securities and Exchange Commission Zambia. Sam lies passion lies at the intersection of health, finance and IT and is currently playing a crucial in attraction of investment into the Zambian health ecosystem.
