Eng. Millicent Alooh Angara, a biomedical Engineer by profession and practice, married to Erick Angara.
In 2005 she joined Mombasa Polytechnic to pursue a Diploma in Medical Engineering. Once graduated in 2008 she secured a sales job with JOM suppliers, dealing with medical equipment and surgical supplies. Later in the year she started with The Nairobi Women Hospital as Biomedical technologist, repairing medical equipment. During the five years` employment she grew to the level of Maintenance In Charge (Hospital Engineer). In the meantime she entered a 2-year Undergraduate Course in 2009 in BSC Industrial Technology (Medical Engineering Option) at Egerton University, Nakuru.
During visits to different countries (Germany amongst others) she was trained in the latest technology of Medical equipment .
In 2013 she voluntarily resigned from NWH to join the Aga Khan Hospital Kisumu as a facility Manager In Charge. She also enrolled for a 2-year MSC of Science in Project Planning and Management at the University of Nairobi.
In 2015 she got seconded for apposition at the Aga khan University Hospital Nairobi as Manager Biomedical Engineering Department.
She Joined Mpshah Hospital Nairobi this year 2019 as the Head of Engineering Maintenance and Biomedical Department.
Her passion is women growth in careers which are dominated by men. After being Ass. Secretary for AMEK from 2012 to 2015, she stepped down for personal reasons, and rejoined AMEK again in 2019 as Secretary General National, a position in which she will serve 3 years.
