Isabel Thywissen is a Vice President at DEG – GERMAN INVESTMENT AND DEVELOPMENT COMPANY, Cologne. She oversees the healthcare activities of DEG, working in the Business Innovation and Syndication Department. DEG focusses on financing Healthcare Service Providers (e. g. Hospitals), companies producing Medical Technology, Manufacturers of generic pharmaceuticals and Distribution and Retailing as well as private Medical Insurance and other financing institutions for healthcare services (i. e. Health Management Organisations).

Isabel Thywissen is with DEG for more than twenty years. She is engaged in the development of a sector strategy for DEG and in the structuring of concrete financing projects. In the past she held different positions in the Latin American Department, the Credit Risk Analysis Department and the Department of Manufacturing and Services. She started her career at Deloitte, Haskins & Sells in Montevideo, Uruguay. She holds an MBA of the University of Göttingen.
